From 18 to 26 November, the Kanchanaburi College of Agriculture will host Amazing Green: A;Maze 2017. This is a project about sustainable agricultural tourism, and is focused on educating people on agricultural activities. The interactive event is family friendly, so there is something for everybody to enjoy. Visitors wander through a maze in a cornfield. Along the way to the exit, there are 7 stops with activity stations where you can test your agricultural knowledge, and learn something new. The activities are not only about agriculture, but also about Kanchanaburi itself.
Tourism and agriculture
The project is a combination of Thai local activities, and new tourism activities. This in order to attract all kinds of people, such as millennials, families and couples. Due to the educating nature of the activities, children can play and learn, and adults can have fun with it too, according to the Tourism Authority Thailand’s Governor, Mr. Yuthasak, Supasorn. Furthermore, all children participating will receive a specially designed eco-friendly prize. Also, the event lays down a basis for value for agricultural products.
Activities
Children from 4-10 can also go to the playground, while the bigger kids can go to the Farm Pavilion. At the Farm Pavilion, they get to learn from professional Thai farmers, for example how to grow vegetables. For the adults there is the Eco-Product exhibition, where one can find award-winning eco-friendly products. Furthermore there is a DIY Workshop where both children and adults can create crafts from agricultural products. After all the activities, you can enjoy local Thai corn treats in the A’Maze 2017 Cafeteria.
Agricultural tourism
The event is organized in order to promote agricultural tourism in Thailand. Agricultural tourism is becoming more and more of a trend worldwide. In addition, knowledge gets transferred and children can get interested in agriculture, and adults see the importance of it too.
